See the touring production bring this magical story to life at the
beautiful Thrasher-Horne Center Theater.
Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer, is the longest running
television holiday special in history. The beloved stop-motion animated
television classic made its network television debut in 1964, delighting
audiences across the country. It has been on TV every year since.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Musical,
practically transports audience members into the television special as
songs drive the plot while familiar and nostalgic set design with projections,
costumes and characters are brought to the stage. “We address all of the
familiar story elements from the television special with a talented cast and
puppeteers who help recreate the magic on stage,” says Producing Partner Bob
Penola.
For many families, watching Rudolph’s heartwarming adventure has
become a holiday tradition that bridges generation gaps. Many people who grew
up in the 60s and 70s have been watching it annually for their entire lives.
Some have also had the pleasure of introducing their own children and
grandchildren to the timeless story of Rudolph.
Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Musical, had a
very successful inaugural tour last year. “Because our run was so popular in
2014, we will have three tours this year in an effort to bring Rudolph and his
friends to even more families and young theatergoers across North America. This
holiday season, three North American tours will be visiting fifty cities,” says
Producing Partner Jonathan Flom.
Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, The Musical, will be
presented live on stage at the Thrasher-Horne Center Theater on Sunday,
December 13th. The first performance will be at 1:30 p.m. and the second will
begin at 4:30 p.m.
